I purchased 2 new charge 3’s. 1 for my partner which I had no problem at all setting up on her Samsung notebook. My new charge 3 absolutely would not pair with my IPad that has the newest version of IOS. Something like 13.2.3. I tried everything then I contacted Fitbit Help via the telephone. It seemed like I was on the phone with them for forever. At the end of the conversation I was told it was defective and to return it. I exchanged it at Costco & came home with my new Charge 3. Exact same problem. I decided to pair it with my older IPhone that doesn’t have the newest version of IOS. No problem. The info would then come over onto my IPad but it has to be on my phone first. On my IPad it shows the charge 3 connected via Bluetooth & in the Fitbit app it will only show updated info if it’s on my phone first. Just this morning I shut off Bluetooth on my phone & turned it off. I deleted the device from the Fitbit app, deleted the app from my IPad then shut it off for over 1 min. I installed the Fitbit app from the app store & tried pairing my new Charge 3 to my IPad and it still won’t pair. I can only surmise that the issue is related to the new version of IOS and the developers just don’t care and can’t find a fix. Either way, as the customer I’m the one who’s paying the price by my dissatisfaction.
The issue is not just with notifications

I have repeatedly deleted the Fitbit from my IPad Pro running an IOS 13.2.3 platform. I have turned my device for for the required 10 seconds. I have removed all other Fitbit’s from the app. I have repeatedly sought to pair & set up my new Charge 3 to my IPad. I only get as far as entering the 4 digit code from the Fitbit device onto the Fitbit app on my IPad. That’s it. It always tells me to abort because it is unable to locate my Fitbit device.
I am seriously disappointed and feel that this issue goes beyond me but is an issue between the app & the new Updated IOS platform that needs to be resolved. At this point I am just disgusted.
