I have a new Charge 3. It was recognized by my iPhone and apparently did an initial sync (my data from my Alta HR appears in my Charge 3 dashboard). But it keeps saying an update is available and it keeps returning an error when I try to download the update.
Charge 3 is charge and is near my iPhone. I have confirmed Bluetooth is on and working and co firmed I have internet connection. I have restarted the Charge 3 several times and restarted my iPhone. Still won’t complete the update.

Hello @Cmahoney77 and @Pvang, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. It's nice to see you too @Stepho24, I hope you're doing well.
I appreciate your participation in the Forums, for having reported this situation and for letting us know the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far. At this moment I would like to suggest you to go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device. Then, open the Fitbit app and try to update your Charge 3 again. If this doesn't seem to work, my best recommendation would be setting up your Charge 3 as a new device, this will force the update to start again and finish.
To set up your Charge 3 as a new device:
I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

same issue- i get the four digit code to pair my new Charge 3, but phone doesn't find it - it get a message thats says "the operation couldn't be completed. FBBluetooth error domain error 24". I have tried downloading the app on a PC with windows 10 and it is still not able to find my Charge.... I have tried all of the suggestions - restarting Charge 3, turning iPhone off/on, bluetooth off/on..... so frustrating!!

I have tried multiple times to update my charged fitbit 3, restarting my bluetooth and deleting and re-adding my device. What else can I try?

I am also having trouble pairing. It initially worked, and then when I tried to update, it would not finish and I got the the error. I did all the steps..reset phone, reset Fitbit (which it will no longer reset when I hold the button down), turned off BT and back on, installed app, uninstalled app, removed the Charge 3 from the app, updated my phone, you name it, I've done it. Since I've done the steps, I can't even get past the pairing area of set up. Spoke with someone on chat, they said they are aware of the issue, but were certain the engineers would have the problems fixed soon, when ever that is. Very frustrating.
I am thinking of returning this and just going with another brand. This is too much work.

It says it updates, but sometime the following day it stops syncing and says it needs to update again. Unfortunately, I only have 1 charging dongle, and I don't carry it around with me. Very frustrating.

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well.
I appreciate some of you have joined the conversation and reported this issue. I would like to thank @Stepho24 for coming back and let us know your issue has been resolved after you paired your Charge 3 as a new device.
@grayciemoose, if you're still getting an error 8, please go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device. Then restart your phone and try to pair your Charge 3 again.
For those of you who have already tried the troubleshooting steps listed here and you're still unable to pair or update your Charge 3, please reply to me with the following:
Thanks for your patience and understanding, I'll be waiting to hear from you.

iPhone 6x
Fit Bit version 2.80 (794)
iOS 12.0.1
I am having trouble setting up and updating. I first followed the steps to set up, and part-way through it wants you to update. Last night it kept failing when it got to around 6% done. I did everything it said and more (turned off bluetooth, reset FitBit, restarted FitBit app, disconnected my Charge2)
Today, I have done everything above, and when I try to "Set up a device", I start the setup process, I get to the point where I enter the 4 digit code that showed up on the watch, and then it says "connecting to FitBit"..... forever and it never goes on to another step.
No error message today. At least not yet.

I am using an iPhone 6s, iOs version 12.0, I just updated the fitbit app today and tried again but still getting error message. Charge 3 will pair with my phone (i get the 4 digit code, enter it, etc.) but it does not show up in my bluetooth settings, only in the Fitbit app where it shows up but says that it needs to be updated.

Now I'm not sure which post I replied to. But currently the app goes unresponsive after entering 4 digit code and Charge 3 is not showing up in Bluetooth.
