If nothing happens after clicking on "Update tracker", try to log out of the app and log back in with the same email address and password. Once you're back in, see if it still tells you that there is an update available. If so, try to update your tracker and see how it goes.

This worked for me. Since I didn't know how to log out of the iphone app, I deleted it and downloaded it again from the app store. When I logged in again, the update went through right away.
