Username not showing the full name.

In stead of Firstname Lastname, my husband is shown as Firstname L. in my list of friends. When he goes to his app, he also sees himself as Firstname L. when he clicks on Account in the IOs app. But if he clicks on the "wheel" to edit his profile, his Display Name is Firstname Lastname, and not Firstname L.

What's going on? How can this be restored back to showing the the original full names? Thanks!

Did you husband create his account recently? If he did, that explains why he's seeing his first name and the initial of his last name. During a recent update, the nicknames were removed from the profile settings on the online Dashboard and the default user profile now displays the first name and the initial of the last name. Please note that this won't apply for all accounts, only the ones recently created.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, his account was activated recently, but so was mine (at the same time).
Initially he set up his account on the FitBit website and it showed his full name. But then his FitBit did not want to sync with his iPhone. So he set up the device again on his phone (unlink and link). Maybe that was the difference? But since you can decide on your own screen name, why would the system want to show only the first letter of the name? It makes no sense to me.

I understand your concern about the username only showing the initial of the last name, it seems odd that even when both of you created your accounts recently, yours is displaying your full name. The system was updated and showing the first and initial of last name was a design choice. Nevertheless, you can type your full name on the first field of the name box and leave the second field blank to circumvent this feature.

I have a related question. I have set up my profile to display a username instead of my name. When I look at my profile it shows the username. But when I try to post in the Fitbit community on my app it shows as my name instead of my username. Please help me understand how to display my username in posts.

Did you set up a username after making a Community profile? Are you seeing your name when trying to post using a browser? Is your user name "Joaquín-" or is it your name? 

Would it be possible for you to send me a screenshot of what you're seeing when trying to post in the Community through your phone? That will be very helpful for me to check this further.
