Versa 2 not syncing with iPhone 8

I cannot sync. my third fitbit.( versa 2). This fitbit was a recent birthday gift. And just recently I received an iPhone 8 as another gift. Prior to the iPhone for the last 2 weeks no problem with Fitbit.

I have been able to sync on my MacCook Air and my iMac. Both Macs are system 10.5.2 and have bluetooth.

Yesterday I loaded the Fitbit app to my brand-new iPhone 8. It appeared that I was syncing. And later in the day when I checked on FITBIT site it had stopped syncing several hours earlier.  So I fooled around trying to sync and magically after doing something with bluetooth it synced.

I didn’t do anything else and everything seemed OK. Today I went out walking and have logged over 10,000 steps. When I went to check on iMac showed 0 steps and last record was the previous day. I loaded the fitbit app and it shows 10,767  steps.

I have spent the afternoon trying to work this out. I went through fitbit’s suggested trouble shooting  but still dashboard on both computers shows 0 steps as of10:15 last night.

Also bluetooth is working on both computers.

Hi @college_student. Welcome! It's great to see a new face around.

Thanks for letting me know about your Versa 2 and for your efforts to get your information updated. I understand your concern about this situation and let's work together on this matter. Before anything else let me share that your Versa 2 was designed to work and sync with phones that are compatible with the Fitbit app, such as your iPhone 8. Meaning that some features, such as syncing and changing clock faces won't be able to work on your MacBook Air and iMac. However, you can access your fitbit.com dashboard to see your data and progress.

That said, since your information isn't syncing correctly I'll need you to give one more try to the following in the given order to reconnect your watch with the Fitbit app:

  1. Remove the Versa 2 from the Bluetooth settings on your iPhone, MacBook Air and iMac.
  2. Turn off the Bluetooth from your iPhone, MacBook Air and iMac and any other device nearby.
  3. Force quit the Fitbit app on your iPhone.
  4. Reboot your phone and restart your watch.
  5. Turn on the Bluetooth just on your iPhone.
  6. Open the Fitbit app on your phone, tap on your profile icon > Set Up a Device.
  7. Choose the Versa 2 and follow the onscreen instructions. You'll be prompted to pair via Bluetooth, please proceed with that.

I'll be around, keep me updated.
