Versa not receiving Notifications from IPhone X

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

It’s been about four days now and my

fitbit Versa isn’t receiving texts or calls. It had previously notified and virbrated for everything. I’ve gone through and discounted my Fitbit to phone. Reset everything. Bluetooth turned off. I’ve pretty much gone through all the threads and completed all the suggestions but still not working.

My Fitbit just had a huge update but still didn’t fix the issue.

I have an iphoneX and again this issue just started about four days ago.

Many help

is appreciated.

Hello @KBTexasMaine, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have brought this to my attention and for letting me know the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far in hopes to resolve this issue. As you have tried to reset Notifications on your Versa and Fitbit app already, my best recommendation would be setting up your Versa as a new device to reset the connection between the watch and your phone. Don't worry, none of the information already stored in your account will be deleted.

To set up your Versa as a new device:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your watch is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
  3. Choose your watch and follow the onscreen instructions to continue
  4. When the app asks you to replace your current watch, please replace it and continue with the process.
  5. When a pop-up appears asking you to Pair your tracker to your device, tap on Pair and continue.

After setting your watch as a new device, go to Account > Versa > Notifications and enable them once again.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

I had same issue. What worked for me was telling the iPhone Bluetooth to forget my old Fitbit Blaze that my Versa replaced.  I think it can only send to one device and even though my blaze is off it had that as the primary device to try and send to

So I went in and changed the clock face (pick a different clock) and then I reset my Bluetooth and it worked!

So my issue persists. I got text for a few hours and no calls at all came through.  Does the clock face I choose make a difference?

Hello @camerog, I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply. Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have come back and kept us updated about this situation. Please note that Notifications skip or stop occasionally for several reasons that don't suggest a problem with your device or the Fitbit app, which is why I would like to ask you to check the following:

  • Your phone was too far away. It must be within 30 feet of your Fitbit device to transmit the notification.
  • For texts, you have the conversation open on your phone. Your Fitbit device shows new texts you haven't already read.
  • You changed a related setting on your phone, such as turning on Do Not Disturb, Quiet hours, or Driving mode. To double check all requirements, see How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device?
  • You're using another Bluetooth product. If you have Bluetooth products like speakers, headsets, or car stereos paired to your phone along with your Fitbit device, you may have trouble using more than one at the same time. For example, turning on your speaker might stop your phone from sending a notification or syncing. For more information, see Is the Fitbit app interfering with other Bluetooth devices?
  • The connection between your phone and Fitbit device is unstable. Bluetooth signals are susceptible to disconnecting or dropping occasionally.
  • The app that should send the notification can't do so. Check all the phone and Fitbit app requirements in How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device?
  • Your device was syncing. Syncing can sometimes prevent or delay a notification.
  • You just updated the Fitbit app. Restart your phone and try setting up notifications again.
  • Device lock is active on your Fitbit watch and you haven't recently entered your PIN. Tap your watch screen to see if the device lock prompt appears. If it does, enter your PIN.

If you've reviewed the list above and can't get notifications to work, please try the following:

  1. Force-quit the Fitbit app, then open it again and sync your tracker.
  2. Restart the Bluetooth on your phone once again.
  3. Reset your Versa once again.
  4. Refresh Notifications:
    • From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Account icon
    • Tap Notifications.
    • Turn off all notifications
    • Restart your phone.
    • Open the Fitbit app and turn notifications back on.
  5. Set up Notifications again:
    • Tell your phone to "forget" your device, removing the connection between the phone and the Fitbit device.
      1. On your phone, go to Settings > Bluetooth and find your Fitbit device in the list.
      2. Find an option to forget the device.
    • Open the Fitbit app and set up notifications again.

I hope this can be helpful, please give these steps a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

Yesterday i did all of this and for the time being i do get the notifications to appear.  But what is odd is if i swipe down on the Versa I only ever see Nothing New here You're all caught up.  So if i don't happen to look at the text/caller ID as it comes in there's no record of it on the watch.   Seems odd.  Blaze would keep all of that until i cleared them out. My phone is almost always on my person. So Bluetooth distance not a factor.

Hello @Neaturejuegirl thanks for joining the conversation, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community.

@Neaturejuegirl, I appreciate you have taken the time to report this and thanks for having tried the troubleshooting steps provided earlier. Tell me, are you not receiving a specific kind of Notifications or are you not receiving Notifications at all? Would it be possible for you to go your phone Settings >Notifications > Fitbit / Settings > Notifications > Messages and take a screenshot of what you're able to see here? Then reply to us with these screenshots, they will be very helpful for us to check this further.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, we'll be waiting to hear from you.

@MarcoGFitbit I am not receiving any type of notifications besides the hourly step alerts if I haven't gotten 250 steps. The notifications are turned on on my watch and on my phone and in the fitbit app. I've disconnected my watch completely from the fitbit app, forgotten the device on my bluetooth on my phone, and restarted my phone dozens of times... still no notifications.

I was having the same problem with my iPhone 8. I deleted the Fitbit off the phone a coupe of times and finally things started working again. Like you, I have gone through all the threads trying to get it to work right again.

Just figured this out on wife’s versa after a lot of resetting of everything. Since I didn’t see the answer in here, I thought I’d share. If you press and hold the left button a setting screen will come up that you can’t get to any other way and there is a notifications button that can be set to on or off. That was all it took.

Hi, what is it you pressed on the left. The Versa watch? All I get are 4 quick settings. Nothing worked like you suggested. Unless I am missing something.

Thanks,

Hi I believe that the layout has changed since I did mine. If you press and hold the button on its own it then comes up with your notifwrcation and a bar at the top with 3 icons if you press the icon that is like 2 lines with dots on it then brings you to quick settings you then need to press the icon that looks like a minus sign that should the turn back on your notifications.
Hope that makes sense and helps. X
