I use an iPad Pro (iOS 12.1.4) to sync with. I have a Fitbit Versa (32.33.1.30). I have the same issue. My versa will not always sync with the iPad. I have All-Day sync turned on. Sometimes, if I close the Fitbit app on my iPad and wait 30 mins or more it will decide to sync. Pretty frustrating. I monitor exercise heart rate and sleep patterns.

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. If your Versa is not syncing correctly with your iPad, I would like to suggest you the following troubleshooting steps:
- Make sure the latest version of the Fitbit app is installed on your phone.
- The software on your mobile device is up to date. To check, tap Settings > General > Software Update.
- Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices around as they might interfere with the syncing process
- Check that your Fitbit device's battery isn't critically low.
If your device still won't sync, try these steps:
- Force quit the Fitbit app.
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on.
- Open the Fitbit app.
- If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart your phone again.
- Open the Fitbit app.
- If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart it one more time.
- If your Fitbit device won't sync after the restart, log in to your Fitbit account on a different phone, tablet, or computer and try to sync.
- If your Fitbit device still doesn’t sync, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your mobile device and try to sync.

I do use an attached bluetooth keyboard on my iPad but I’m not willing to do without that. Maybe I’ll try powering it off before I sync. If Fitbit could enable landscape mode on the iPad, now that would be helpful also. The only time I use my iPad in portrait mode is when I take a picture in that format.
I also found a number of other features on your web site that look interesting like the food and water intake. I am enjoying my Fitbit and I think it is more useful/functional than my wife’s Apple Watch.
I appreciate the fast response.

First of all, I would like to apologize for the delay in the response. I appreciate you have come back and for letting us know you will try the troubleshooting steps provided. I'm glad to know you were able to locate your data in the online Dashboard. Note that all the data you sync from your Fitbit device gets stored in our servers and not on your mobile device.
Keep in mind that it's possible that other Bluetooth device, like a keyboard, might interfere when a Fitbit device is syncing and when it comes to the iPad having a landscape mode, I would like to suggest you to check this suggested idea by @SFernando to implement this feature in the future. Feel free to add your vote and comment, this is the best way to make your voice heard.
I'm also glad you're enjoying your Fitbit and that you're enjoying the ability to log food and water. If there's anything else we can do for you, please feel free to reply.

I provided the software versions for my iPad and Versa in my original post. Versa battery level is good. I followed your suggestions and I had no luck with my iPad or my android phone initially. I decided to power down my iPad one more time and when it came back up I was able to sync. Whether this is coincidence or not I cannot say yet. Tomorrow, when it happens again I can try the same approach. I cannot say "Accepted Solution" until it works 2-3 times consecutively and even then it's at best a workaround.
I can honestly say that there is no other product that I own that requires a POR and a Bluetooth device disconnect to get it to work. It's what we call a "Heath Robinson/Rube Goldberg" solution.
The suggested idea by @SFernando to implement landscape mode in the future is not new.The proposal for landscape mode on iPad has been around for 4-5 years. Talk to Apple, it's not rocket science. There are many iPad users out there. I may be dead before you come to your senses on this needed fix.

I went through the steps again and no luck. I powered off my ZAGG keyboard (no bluetooth from ZAGG). I powered off my iPad twice. When I switched on iPad bluetooth it could not recognize the Versa. Versa is 80% charged. Not cool.

My Versa is at 100% charge and I restarted my iPad and switched off/on bluetooth. No luck. After I work out on the bike I will try again. Syncing is still hit or miss on a daily basis. Tried restarting the Versa, no luck.

Hi @welshman, nice to hear from you. I'm sorry for the delayed response and thanks for your efforts in restarting your Versa, rebooting your iPad and also the Bluetooth.
I'd suggest to try the following steps one last time to get your watch reconnected to your account:
1. Remove the Versa from the Bluetooth settings in your Android phone and iPad.
2. Turn off the Bluetooth in your Android phone.
3. Open the Fitbit app in your iPad and tap on the account icon at the upper right corner.
4. Tap on the option to setup a device and choose the Versa from the list.
5. Follow the onscreen instructions and accept the prompt to pair via Bluetooth.
Please note that you'll need to have the Bluetooth turned off in your Android phone when using your iPad to sync. If you want to sync with your Android, turn off the Bluetooth in your iPad.
I appreciate you for sharing that the landscape mode was enabled for the iPad in this thread. Thanks for the heads up and I'm glad that this option is now available!
