Versa unable to sync correctly.

In the past two weeks I’ve been experiencing problems with my Fitbit Versa and getting any notifications from my phone. I had the notifications for calls and texts only set up and I was receiving them without any issues but now I can not get them to pair on the app at all. I have restarted my iPhone many times, deleted the Fitbit app, removed Versa device from the app, and today I finally did a factory reset on the Versa smart watch, got it to update and still nothing. From reading many articles, this seems to be a huge problem that many people are saying, all the way from last year too. The reason I upgraded to the Versa was to be able to see my motivations and now I can’t even get them. Could it be that the the update is effecting this? Also very odd that it’s been almost a year and this is a still a problem on their forums and they only recommend the same steps that aren’t working.

Hi @CLewis23 . A couple questions for you.

  • Which iPhone do you have?
  • How close is your phone to your Versa when a notification is missed?

And this is something I’ve noticed myself on my Versa - press and hold the left button to verify that notifications are set to On. I turn them off at night and sometimes forget to turn them back on in the morning. Then I wonder why my notifications aren’t coming thru. And sometimes they inadvertently get turned off.

If none of this is helpful, you can find more troubleshooting tips here.

Hello @CLewis23, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. It's nice to see you too @SunsetRunner, thanks for all your help. Smiley Happy

@CLewis23 I appreciate your participation in the Forums, for sharing your experience and for letting us know the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far. Please note that after a Factory Reset, you will need to set up your Versa as a new device in the Fitbit app. The Versa will not sync if it hasn't been paired again, as this is one of the requirements after performing a Factory Reset.

If you're having trouble setting it up, please try the following:

  1. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone; wait 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  2. Make sure you have a strong WiFi signal and that there are no other Bluetooth devices around that might interfere with the setup process.
  3. Restart your Versa by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen, then try to set up again.
  4. If you can't set up after a restart, reboot your phone or tablet and try to set up again.
  5. If you can't set up after the reboot, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your phone or tablet and try to set up the Versa one more time.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and let us know the outcome.

Hello @CLewis23 I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply. Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have come back with the information requested. At this moment, I would like to ask you to try the following steps:

  1. Force-quit the Fitbit app, then open it again and sync your tracker.
  2. Restart the Bluetooth on your phone once again.
  3. Reset your Versa once again.
  4. Refresh Notifications:
    • From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Account icon
    • Tap Notifications.
    • Turn off all notifications
    • Restart your phone.
    • Open the Fitbit app and turn notifications back on.
  5. Set up Notifications again:
    • Tell your phone to "forget" your device, removing the connection between the phone and the Fitbit device.
      1. On your phone, go to Settings > Bluetooth and find your Fitbit device in the list.
      2. Find an option to forget the device.
    • Open the Fitbit app and set up notifications again.

I hope this can be helpful, please give these steps a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.
