Where did calories remaining/over go?

In the app the latest update removes calories remaining/over and replaces with daily goal. Why? Why remove the feature when you could show both?

@Hi @Anonymous155    You are describing an app feature.  Do you use an Android or iPhone?  The two platforms are different.  For example, you can set a daily calorie goal without a weight loss food plan.

I’m using iPhone iOS 26.3.1. Don’t believe this is pertinent to the problem though. Fitbit has removed this feature before and added it back after user complaints.  That’s what I found when searching Fitbit help.

@Anonymous155   I moved your post to the iOS app forum, a better fit for this issue.  The iOS app is different from the Android app and has been ever since Google redesigned the Fitbit app.

I recommend sending feedback to Google in the Fitbit app.  Tap on your profile picture, then Send feedback.  Be sure to include the Fitbit app version on your phone.  You can find this by tapping on your profile picture, then Help.

I use Apple and I have this issue too. I can try and set a calorie deficit, it does it and then as soon as I go on the app and review my calories it doesn’t show a figure just a calories set.

Yes, I was playing around with it a bit

If I go to settings > Nutrition and Weight > Food > Help me set a goal, complete the wizard, then go back to food from the Today screen, then the over/ remaining calories value flashes up for a split second and then is replaced by the daily calorie goal.

Seems like a bug to me.

I’ve yet to find anything in help that is actually helpful for this issue. I just see more articles on this happening in the past.

If there’s a specific article that describes how to resolve this issue pls do link it here.

Not fixed on mine, still just showing a target of 2083 calories even when I go into settings and set this as a calorie deficit to achieve a reduction in calories

Still broken for me. I can set a calorie deficit, but it reverts back to a fixed number a few seconds later.
