@sashalauren a couple off thoights.
if you told the phones BT to forget the alta, it should still be showing in the app, and a forced sync should make the app pair up the Alta to the phone.
You do not pair the Alta to your phone, this is the job of the app.
Now if you did remove the Alta from your account, this is what happens when a fitbit is removed from the app, you will need to go into the app and do an add tracker routine.
Now since the app connects to your Alta with the Bluetooth Low Energy and the phone connects to the car through the Bluetooth Classic there should be no reason to remove the alta.
In any case let's make sure the car I'd no meat when trying to sync the alta, and check this doc out.
