can fitbit help find my phone

My daughter lost her phone and it's synched to her fitbit.  When we call her phone the fitbit vibrates - hopefully this means her phone is nearby.  We tried the find my iphone app but her cellular data was turned off to everything but a few apps and it turns out we turned it off to that one unfortunately.  I'm just wondering if the fitbit alta will still vibrate if her phone is not close by when someone calls her iphone.

The alta is connected via bluetooth, so the phone is within 30 feet of the alta if it's vibrating when called.

You should be able to use Find My iPhone to send a sound to the phone - it'll start making a "ping" sound consistently.

Thanks! Yes the fitbit confirmed the phone was in our house and we found it from there.  Thank goodness for the fitbit otherwise we would have erased it and moved on.  The findmy iphone app wasn't working because for some reason it said the phone was offline - even though it had wi-fi.  Guess the findmy iphone isn't perfect.

Good to hear you found it! Odd that Find My iPhone wasn't working; might be worth checking settings for that and testing the "play sound" function in case this happens again!
