iOS 11 beta, Fitbit app crash

Well, it only figures I should have tread a bit more carefully in beta waters. =(

I am trying out dev beta of iOS 11. As of so far, all of the apps I use have been working well. Along with only one other app (that I cannot think of which it is) that I use, the Fitbit app also keeps crashing on my iPhone. It has worked seamlessly throughout iOS 10 of course. But iOS 11 is not playing nice with Fitbit. I have even hard-reset my iPhone with iOS 11, started from scratch and installed Fitbit app. No cure. I hope somebody over in Fitbit app developer land is aware of this issue, and a fix comes soon. Thanks.

Accepted Solutions

I was in the same boat as you and I ended up getting mine to work!

1. Force close the Fitbit app

2. Turn off your bluetooth (When you open the Fitbit app again it won't crash)

3. Go into Fitbit settings and remove the Fitbit device from your account.

4. Close the app, go back and enable bluetooth and then reopen Fitbit!

After this, you should be able to select a Fitbit tracker to add and it will guide you through the setup process again. Hope that helps!

This sounds pretty odd, let me help you. Thanks for the feedback, Fitbit it's always trying to improve their products and services. Keep in mind that is a beta version so I recommend to keep an eye on the updates, in  the meantime you can try syncing with your computer.

Let me know how it goes!

Great workaround - worked perfectly.

Just got brand new blaze and can't get message notifications to work.  Using ios11 on an iPhone 7plus.  not sure if this is the issue.  all of the notification tabs are turned on in settings/notification.  also on the blaze itself.  Just wondering if anyone else is having this issue.

I'm having the same issue on an iPhone 6

Welp, in general, I am not sure what exactly rectified the crash situation, but after another try of re-downloading the app and just trying to get into the app, it finally worked. In other words, it will work with iOS 11 beta.... eventually.

I have downloaded iOS 11 before the native release on my iPhone 7 Plus. I am happy to use. Even though, suddenly some of the Apps crashing often like Fitbit and Apple App store. And no mind what should I do to fix. I tried to search an ideal solution on Google. luckily I found that and hmm second workaround was worked for me in listed the thread of to fix App crashing iOS 11. Thanks. Now, I am enjoying the Fitbit's connected device reliably without any problems.

Having the same issue with my Charge 2. Only call notifications show. No text notifications.

No, I’m sorry – I am still waiting on fitbit support to call or email me back. They said they were working on it but I haven’t heard anything and unfortunately my notifications still aren’t working.

To their defense – I’m sure it’s something in the apple beta software that has changed how the fitbit used to connect to it.  I’m sure they will get it fixed soon (or at least I hope so anyways)!

FYI - Just updated iOS and here's my situation.

iOS 11 Beta 2

Call Notifications - work

Text & Calendar - does not work.

Just wanted to pass along my test.

Thank you for the heads up.  I heard ios11 beta 2 was more unstable than the first so I didn’t bother upgrading.

Really hope we can get the text messaging notifications to work soon.
