iOS App Display Name & Notification Questions

Hello!

My first question is can we set our usernames (nicknames) to be used when we post in the forums (where we post photos, badges, etc is called the forum, correct?) I've read here other people had questions about this but I'm still fuzzy on the answer. The checkmark is next my username in Edit Profile - Didplay Name. If it matters I'm using the iOS app on my iPhone SE and no I haven't updated to 2.38.1 yet. 

My second question is when I receive notifications about badges, exercises and such the background is teal, when I tap it it turns white. Is it's only purpose to indicate you've seen it? I feel as if it should take me somewhere or give me more info when I tap it.

Hello @Bethany007, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board! 

About usernames, you can set up yours but the one the Community tab will use when posting something on the feed will be the name that has a check on it. To find it, inside the app tap on Account then on the gear icon on the top right corner of the screen, then on Display Name. You can change this by going to your personal settings on the online Dashboard. 

Now, the notifications you receive about badges, exercises, etc., are only meant to appear in the lock screen as a friendly reminder. Additionally, you can check some of these notifications by tapping on the Notification icon at the bottom of the app screen.

That answers my second question but unfortunately not the first one. I tapped on the link in your answer and it took me to my mobile friendly profile where all my info was listed (including first and last name) but no spot for the nickname listed or to be changed. When I tapped on the 3 horizontal stripes at the top right of the page and then profile   It takes me to my profile where it's listed as my nickname beside my photo. And in the app I do have my nickname checked to be used.

Yes I know it will show whichever name is checked, that is why I am posting the question. My user name (nickname) is checked but when I post on the community forum the other one shows. 

I tapped the personal setting link  you provided for the online dashboard but there is no place to switch up the names. The only place I've seen this is in my settings, which is checked for my username.

Hi there @Bethany007, thanks for replying, I appreciate it. 

When you're creating a Community profile, the form will ask you for a Community Name which is totally different from the one set when you created your Fitbit account or the Nickname set in the account (which is an alias that can be shown to others inside the app). Unfortunately, the Community username cannot be changed once set.
