iOS App won't record rowing distance

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

After rowing on a row machine for 2000 meters, I sync the workout to the app, then in the app categorize the exercise to "Rowing Machine". Then I edit the details and update the distance to be 2000 meters. When I save the exercise, the app won't persist the updated distance and it defaults to 0.2 meters.

Hello @JeffInNC, I hope you're doing well, it's nice to see you around. Smiley Happy

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Are you recording the exercise using a Fitbit tracker? Are you using a third party app to record the exercise as well? Are you logging the exercise manually? When did you started experiencing this situation?

At this moment I would like to gather some information from you to check this further:

  • iPhone model do you have
  • Tracker (if any) are you wearing
  • OS version is your phone currently running
  • App version currently installed in your phone (go to Account > Help to get it)

Thanks for your patience and understanding, I'll be waiting for your reply.

Thanks Marco.

Recording exercise on my Ionic as "Workout". Once the workout is complete, when I sync to the phone, I then edit the workout and re-categorize it as "Rowing Machine". Then edit the exercise details to put in the distance.

Just did it yesterday. Edited exercise to be a rowing distance of 2000 meters. When I saved the exercise, it shows 0.15mi.  I was expecting to see either 2000m or 1.24mi.

iPhone model: 7 running iOS 11.2.1

Tracker: Ionic

App version: 2.44.2 (739)

I started noticing this about 3-4 weeks ago. Although that is when I started using the rowing machine.

Hello @JeffInNC, I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply with more details about your issue. Smiley Happy

At this moment I would like to suggest you to force-quit the Fitbit app after syncing your tracker by double tapping the home button and swiping up the app. Then when you're about to edit your "Workout", please edit the distance and select either Km. or Mi. Depending on your settings the distance will change to Km or Mi after saving it.

If the distance is still not showing correctly, please log a new "Rowing Machine" activity by tapping on the chronometer icon on the top right corner of the Exercise screen. Type in the same start and stop time as well as the distance, this will overwrite the previous "Workout" using the data recorded by your Fitbit tracker.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and let me know the outcome. Smiley Wink

So manually logging the activity works

Will a bug fix be released to correct the auto-logging/editing of the activity?

I understand your concern about this situation; however, I still don't have a determined timeframe for when this issue will be resolved. Please keep an eye on future app updates.

+1 still having this problem on iOS. Rowing distance is important for me because I'm trying to measure my performance over time. The distance also contributes to team goals on MVM, so it's extra not cool when a 10k row shows up as 3k.
