iOS and MobileTrack syncing - Is this a bug?

ios16..6.1 / iPhone 12

I use the mobile track feature to count steps.  (going on 6 years actually)

When I open the FB app and pull the screen down to refresh it, the step count does not update. (and it didn't update in prior app versions either)

I have to quit the app  (i.e. flick it off the screen) and re-launch it to get the steps to update.

If i leave the app open on the screen whille walking i can actually see the steps update in near real time, but if i close the screen or lock the phone, or otherwise lose focus on the app, the steps stop updating until the next launch.

It's only an annoyance, but it would be nice to not have to relaunch the app...
