Update 9/17/2019: We have released iOS app version 3.6.1 to all users. Please update your app to this version. It is recommended to all experiencing continuous crashes and should resolve this issue.

Hi Everyone - I've merged several posts together.

We're aware of an issue that may cause some iOS users to experience a continuous crash when trying to open the app after updating to version 3.6.

To resolve this, please try to uninstall and reinstall the app from the app store. Even if you have tried this previously, please try again.

If this does not work, our team is working to resolve it and hope to have a fix soon. Be sure to keep your Fitbit device and app up-to-date to ensure you receive the quickest resolution.

We're sorry for any trouble. We appreciate your patience and look forward to getting you back on track.

Thank your for responding. I’ll wait it out before I do anything. And hope it won’t be long before I can get in the App to sync the challenges I’m in.

Tried updating the app on my phone yesterday and it crashed. Delete and reinstalling didn’t work. This morning tried on my iPad and also crashed. I deleted it but it’s not showing up in my he App Store to reinstall. Hopefully this means it’s being fixed?

Thank you for this suggestion and appreciate your desire to help me. I did update the Fitbit app, but it hasn’t worked for me. Can’t explain why not! But I’ll still keep looking and hoping for something that would work without me losing my data on the app! Thanks again!

I was able to log on early this morning, but apparently after that, the app updated. So I could not get into it! However, when I went to the app store, I was able to update again, and it is now working. Started to panic, there, but I'm happy it's working. Thank you!

New update is working so far this morning so all is well once again! 😊

If you uninstall and reinstall the app it will work until you close out of the app again. Every time you close the app it will not re-open. Keep trying 🙃🙂

Alright, this morning, now, I see people saying it is working again.  Deleted the app for the umpteenth time, then redownloaded current version (now 3.6.1).  So far it is working.  Thank you.

Will uninstalling and reinstalling not delete all the data?

No, your data is saved.  Your device actually saves it for 7 days.  All your history will still be there.

I just updated my app with the latest update 3.6.1. It seemed to resolve the problem with the app not opening. Thanks.

My app crashed last night.  Closed and reopened the app multiple times with the same results each time. Powered down my iPhone 7 to recharge overnight and opened the app again this morning - resulting in multiple crashes. At that point I checked Fitbit Help and read the notice “you are not alone...” Uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it’s working fine now. ::fingers crossed!::

I have a Fitbit one and have used it daily for several years. I enter my food daily, I have a Facebook page on fitness and recommend using a Fitbit. I don’t get how an app can fail to work at all not even open all of a sudden. This is unacceptable

Just tried uninstalling and redowloading from App Store several times, to no avail. The app was working until just before midnight EST. Now it won't "see" any steps or stairs that I've logged, tho it did record my sleep and 8 oz. water, which I logged via the app. Everything else is still on 0 (floors, miles, minutes)—except calories burned is working, for some reason. But it isn't just the iPhone app. My dashboard shown on your website shows the same numbers as the phone app, so it can't just be the app. My fitbit itself (model = One, since your wristbands give me a rash) is recording my activity. It's just not syncing to your website or the app.

App crashed on my Ipad last night but not my iPhone. App crashed on my iPhone this morning.  App is still down on both devices.

Same. IOS 12.4.1. Did not log out. Just started today after FirBit “cleaned things up for me” & presumably updated. Crashes immediately. I do not want to lose my data. None of the normal fixes work. Very annoying.
