Has anyone else done this update yet?  Is everything working ok?  With all the other problems going on right now I’m afraid to update anything to do with Fitbit for fear of bricking my devices.

Hello and welcome @Fyrfyter 

I understand you are asking about the latest 3.9 Fitbit App update. I actually updated to version 3.9 last night without issue. I think your going to really like the new 1:1 messages feature! So when you do update be sure to tap the notifications envelope in the Fitbit App and check it out 😉
