iOS update + firmware update = no notifications

Hi all. My hubby has the above issue and is too stubborn to look for help. So I'll ask for him! Anyone with iPhone X have or have solved this?

There is more information about this glitch in that area. Fitbit is aware of this and is working on a solution. I checked and his phone is on the compatible list. Thanks for coming here.
