Me too. And Fitbit support was no help. Guess I’ll return it.

Hi @TeresaTatom and @lillianmcgee2. Welcome to the Community Forums.
Thanks for letting me know that your notifications aren't working, as well for every step tried prior posting. Let me give you a hand with this situation. Before anything else, may I know the model of your Fitbit devices? Also is the Fitbit app updated in your iPhone?
In the meantime, please make sure you've set up the notifications settings correctly:
- Share System Notifications is turned on under Bluetooth settings.
- Show Previews is set to Always for phone, messages, calendar and other apps notifications settings.
- The three alerts under the notifications settings are enabled.
- Do Not Disturb is turned off.
- You've turned on the notifications settings on your Fitbit device.
If this is correct, I'd recommend to give one more try to the following:
- Go to the Bluetooth settings in your phone and forget your Fitbit device from the list.
- Turn off the Bluetooth in your phone and any other device nearby.
- Reboot your phone and restart your Fitbit device.
- Open the Fitbit app and pull down on the screen to force a manual sync. When prompted, accept the request to pair your Fitbit device via Bluetooth.
- Tap on your profile picture > Fitbit device > Notifications and check if they're turned on.
- Try receiving a notification on your phone to test your Fitbit device.
By the way, I've moved your posts to this new thread so you can receive more related responses about your inquiries and keep our forums organized.
I'll be around, keep me posted.

I have an iphone 8. Tried all these things and I have the same issue.
My Alta was great time the battery died (yes I deleted it from the app).
I just bought this charge 4 today and I’m about ready to take it back because of this and that I lose steps when I sync!

Hi everyone. It's good to keep seeing you in the forums.
@lillianmcgee2, @Towellm and @LindalooM, thanks for your continued reports and feedback. I understand how important it's to get your notifications working correctly on your Fitbit devices and let me continue helping you with this matter. Let me explain that with the introduction of iOS 13, the required settings to receive notifications changed.
That being said, if you've exhausted the troubleshooting tips from my post, go to your phone's settings, tap Notifications and make sure of the following settings for for messages, Fitbit and any other app of your choice.
- The Show Previews setting is set to Always or When Unlocked
- There is a check mark below Notifications Center
If that's correct, reply back with your phone's model and OS/software version so I can further investigate.
@TeresaTatom, thanks for keeping me posted and following the tips from my post. I'm glad that your Charge 2 is receiving your notifications. I hope you can continue enjoying the Fitbit experience!
I'll look forward to your response.
