iPhone notifications suppressed when delivered to Fitbit Inspire HR

This is a bit of a strange issue.

 

When I turn on notifications for my Fitbit device (Inspire HR), calls and texts from my iPhone display on my Fitbit correctly, and the Fitbit vibrates. However, now my iPhone does not display notifications for texts. When I turn off notifications on the Fitbit device, the iPhone displays them again. It’s like the iPhone is ‘passing off’ text notifications to the Fitbit, and now I can only see text notifications on the Fitbit.

 

The desired result here is that both the iPhone and the Fitbit device show notifications for incoming calls and texts simultaneously.

 

iPhone 11 Pro Max - iOS 13.4.1

Fitbit Inspire HR - 20001.63.5

Notifications ON: Calls, Texts

Notifications OFF: Apps
