Welcome to our Community @Annabethhuber! It's nice to have you on board! I'd like to know if you didn't change your timezone the day before your tracker didn't restarted at zero? If you did, please know that the change of timezone from that day might be the reason why your Fitbit didn't reset your information at midnight. Please make sure that you have save the changes made to your timezone and synced your tracker. Now, if this is not the case, try to setup your tracker as a replacement device.
