iphone too old for current fitbit app

I am getting my daughter a Fitbit Inspire for her birthday to help track her activity with her cross country training.  The problem is that she has an iphone 4s, so it does not have ios 11 to run the fitbit app.  Is there any way to work around this?  She can access her dashboard on our chromebook, but it would be more helpful if she could do it from her phone.  I'm also guessing that I can't sync calls/texts to her fitbit if she doesn't have the app on her phone?

Problem solved I think!  I have her on my family sharing so I was able to load an older version of Fitbit that was on my account.  Hopefully everything will syn well once we get her device.
