Ace 2 set up and syncing difficulty

Seems that my son's google pixel is not able to sync with my son's brand new Fitbit Acer 2.  It is very frustrating because he just got it as a bday present and now he cannot use it.  Do I need to download the software to my apple phone or to my Mac and see if it will work with those devices instead?  Thank you.

I am sorry to hear about the difficulty you're experiencing with syncing your son's new Ace 2 tracker to his Google Pixel device. Thank you for your efforts, I totally understand how you are feeling and I am here to help you. 

You can connect the tracker to an iPhone, iPad, Android phone, or Windows 10 device to transfer (or sync) data to the Fitbit app, where you and your child can see their stats in kid view, participate in challenges, and more. You can confirm if the device is compatible with the Fitbit app in this help article: Which phones and tablets can I use with my Fitbit watch or tracker?
