Ace 2 tracking extra steps and resets exercise to zero

My daughter has just received ace 2 for Christmas. First wear today and the step tracker seems to be trackibg steps while we are sitting in the car.... i dont just mean a couple, about 1000 or so. The other thing is that the fitness tracker was accumlating her exercise, then all of sudden stopped and reswt back to zero. How do we fix this?
