My daughter just got an Ace 3. And it goes from fully charged to under 50% in less than 12 hours. This doesn’t feel like something that will get the advertised 8 days battery life. Should I be making a warranty claim?

Hi @bweathaa with most of my new devices, I found the battery drained faster when I first got it and learned how to navigate it. Your daughter might be tapping or checking things out more often than she realizes. Read this article on how to extend the battery - click to go there. You keep an eye on it and if you feel the need for customer support, they can help you.

The main suggestion they give there is to turn off auto-sync. But that was removed as an option a year ago from the fitbit app.
And it's not that she's looking at it too much; it drained in two days sitting on a bedside table. We need some way to turn off the sync or it isn't really usable.

Hi @bweathaa who told you to turn off auto-sync? Customer support?

That was the main usable advice from the linked articles for stopping battery drain. None of the others are relevant when the device is on a bedside table not being turned on.

I've asked a Fitbit Moderator to stop by to see if they have any suggestions to get your daughter's Ace 3 going properly.

@bweathaa Welcome to the Community Forums. @Odyssey13 Thanks for the heads up and your great help!
@bweathaa Thanks for the details provided, and your efforts while working on this matter. Just to confirm, by auto-sync do you refer to the All-Day Sync? If so, let me share that this function was removed from the Fitbit app. Your data will automatically sync each time you open the Fitbit app and rest assured this shouldn't impact the battery life.
That being said, there are other factors that impact the battery life such as the one mentioned by our friend. If the issue persists after following the tips suggested in our help article, I'd recommend contacting our Support team so they can investigate this behavior and see what can be done to bring your daughter back on track. They're available via chat and phone, just click here to get connected with them.
See you around.
