Ace 3 dim screen

It just purchased an Ace 3 for my son and it is 100% charge and I have restarted the device countless of times and changed watch faces countless of times both sleep mode and dim mode are both off and the display is very dim but not black because I can still see the icons. There is no way for me to change the brightness on the watch itself how do I fix it?
