Adding Ace 3 to child account on iphone

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I’ve added a child to my Fitbit account but when trying to add an Ace 3 on iPhone it says to switch profiles. When I log in as my child and try to add the device it says I need to add child switch profiles. My child would then have a child in their account? It seems to be going round in circles. Why won’t the ace 3 device just get added to the child’s account when logged in as them?
When I switch profiles to the child’s profile and try and add the device again it says I need to add a child to the child’s account?

Apparently the child need’s a mobile phone or tablet? They have neither of these as they are 8!

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @RP2011. I'll be glad to assist with your Ace 3 and iPhone query.

Your children don't need to have their own phone or tablet.

Since your using your phone or tablet:

  1. Confirm that you are the family manager of a Google family group. For instructions on how to create a family on Google, see the Google for Families help center.
  2. Connect your child's Ace device to the charger before you begin the setup process.
  3. Make sure you have a Fitbit profile. If not, download the Fitbit app

     tap Sign in with Google

follow the on-screen instructions to create a profile. Please note that you do not need to have a Fitbit device in order to create a free account.
  4. In the Fitbit app, tap ‘You’ tab > 'Family' tile, and click on 'Add child'
  5. Review the information about managing a child account on Fitbit.
  6. Tap Agree and continue, and enter the password for your Google Account.
  7. Tap Continue, and follow the on-screen instructions to pair Ace.

Yes, I can confirm I have done all of the above.
After step 7 it asks you to switch profiles to the child’s profile to add device. Then when I have switched the profile, it asks the child to add a child to their profile to set up the ace 3 ie steps 4-7 again when switched to the child’s profile. It doesn’t add the device after step 7.

Same here - it takes me back round to creating a Google account for my child which I’ve already done? Any ideas ?

I think it’s an Apple issue as I borrowed a friends android and added the device that way. Problem is, they are now getting my google calendar notifications! 😆 But the Fitbit is now working.

Thanks for getting back to us @RP2011.

I'm glad that  the Fitbit is working and I'm sorry to hear that your child gets your Google calendar notifications. Sometimes I get confused and check help articles and ask for more help.

@Ian1lewis, were you able to make your child Fitbit work?
