Is there a way to set the Ace 2 up to automatically track an exercise like on other versions of Fitbit. We went for a 3hr family walk today and my son gained his 20k badge (also not pleased it doesn't seem like he can share this for his friends to see!) but it hasn't gone down as exercise. If I manually input a 3hr walk for him it messes up his step count & actually knocks 1k off! He has a target to exercise 3 days a week but nothing ever registers & anything we try to input manually overrides his step count. Thank you.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Kal04.
I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing your concern about the exercises tracking automatically on the Ace 2. Thank you for providing the additional details, I totally understand how you are feeling and I am here to help. I would like to confirm that the Ace 2 does not have SmartTrack to automatically track exercise. Under kid view you can set exercise goals and manually tack exercise in the Fitbit App. If you're logging your activity manually, the manually logged activities override the device's data. For more information, please see How do I manually log exercises in the Fitbit app?
You can find more information about the Ace 2 here.

Hello Fitbit!
I have the same issue, and I appreciate the fact of the answer, but it doesn't help the situation that the device is not fulfilling the purpose to track the sport activity of the children. Its already not good enough to add the sport manually, but that it messes up the steps for the end of the day it makes your product almost useless as a tracker. I have charge 2 and I am happy with it, thats why I purchased Fitbit for my son also, but I am.very disappointed. Is there any hope for fixing this? Otherwise I must send it back. Thank you!

So Ace 2 doesn’t count calories and doesnt track activity. Does this mean that i just bought an overpriced steps counter from fitbit?

Pretty much so. My son has had the Ace 2 for 14 months now and it has never tracked any exercise. There is NO setting to make it recognize the activity either. From my account I have managed to manually log an exercise from him - from a computer. With the app it doesnt work, it does not recognize the activities. We only use the Ace 2 for sleep tracking, it is sadly totally useless for activities.
