Fitbit Ace 2 messaging

Has there been any software updates that allow messaging to a family Fitbit Ace 2 from the parent’s cell phone? Messaging is clearly listed as a feature of this device but per prior questions here, it can only send messages to another phone or iPad. What is the point of this feature if messages cannot be sent to the watch itself?!? Very frustrated and disappointed in the misleading info. Patiently waiting for an update, and trusting it’s not a hardware issue.

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing your concern about the Ace 2 messaging. Thank you for your feedback, I understand how you are feeling and I am glad to assist you. Regarding your concern, you can check what's changed in the latest Fitbit device update hereAt this time, Ace devices can alert kids to incoming calls when connected to their phone. The phone and tracker must be within 30 feet of each other to receive notifications. For more information, see How do I get started with Fitbit kids devices?
