If an Ace is started as a standalone device, can it be connected to a phone later and used as a normal Fitbit when my child is old enough for a phone?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @khutch270. Thanks for sharing your question regarding your child's Ace usage. 

I'd recommend reading "How do I get started with Fitbit kids devices?" In order to start using the Ace, it needs to be paired and set up with a phone. Have you already set up your child's Ace? It also needs to be synced in order to keep the time.
