My Fitbit device shows my steps doubled

I was at 7K steps today. I picked up my daughter who had done 11K steps. A couple of minutes later mine changed to 11K. It seemed to sync with hers? Have I set it up wrong??

@Dfost welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your daughter's Fitbit Ace since it seems that logged her steps to your own account.

 

Please check out this help article and make sure that you followed the steps listed when you set up her tracker.

 

As a side note, I'd like to know if the doubled steps appeared on your Fitbit device itself of on your Dashboard?
