My daughter received an Ace 2 for Christmas, and we successfully connected the device to the Fitbit app on an iPad. However, it insists that we upgrade the device; however, the upgrade never gets past 6%. The Ace 2 is fully charged. We've tried resetting the device, rebooting the tablet, diabling/enabling bluetooth on the tablet, cursing, crying, pleading, sacrificing a goat to the dark gods, and nothing works. My daughter is incredibly dissapointed as she's wanted a fitbit for a longtime. And it is ridiculous that it's this difficult to upgrade a device. I shouldn't have to spend all night trying to make it work. At least we should be able to use the device without having to first upgrade. The device is useless at this point. I might have as well gifted her some rocks. Thanks for ruining Christmas, Fitbit!
Oh, I forgot to mention that I downloaded the Desktop Fitbit App, but it doesn't list the Ace 2 as a device! So another fine job there.

Hello, I wish I had seen all these messages before buying both of my kids the Fitbit Ace 2. I'm trying to set them up and I'm stuck on the firmware upgrade process as well. Right now, I'm just looking at a spinning circle and there seems to be no % progress. i'm trying to sync using a Samsung Tablet.
Do these fitbits not work with tablets? is a phone the only way to get this to work?
if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. thanks.

I see this has been an existing problem with the Ace2. Has there been any solution from Fitbit within the last six months? I just received two Ace2s through Amazon, and the problem has remained the same. Tried to update with my kids iPads as well as my own phone and each time it claims too low of a battery, although it’s charged over 50%.
I would love an actual solution. I remember when I received my charge 2 a few years ago I wasn’t able to set the device up either and had to wait for a replacement for a few months... very annoying

If that's the "best answer", your answer "sucks". I have a laptop (Windows 10) like many people and my system sees the device as a bluetooth, but won't pair and won't update.!
