Alta HR calls, message notifications not working

Hi, 

All my notifications like calls and text message have been working on my iphone7. Since I've changed my phone with a Huawei p30 pro I don't receive any calls and sms texts. I've already restarted the fitbit, pair-unpair both devices bracelet and phone,checked if phone allows notifications with fitbit and is not on DND. Anyone has any other advice? Thank you.

Hello @OanaBi, it's good to see you around in the forums for the first time, welcome. 

 

Thank you for all the information about your Alta HR that is not receiving the notifications since you've changed your phone to the Huawei P30 Pro. I've confirmed this phone is actually listed here as a compatible device  to sync with the Fitbit app and you should be able to sync your data: Which devices are compatible with the fitbit app?

 

Before considering other options, please make sure to check all the necessary requirements and if you already tried all the steps listed here  to resolve problems with notifications: Why are notifications delayed or missing?

Hi David, 

I've already tried everything you've mentioned. It seems the connection is not the best between Huawei phone and fitbit. I never had this issues in the past with iphone. The updates related to steps are done so the app is connected. I cannot use my fitbit on its full capacity.. And I don't want to change it with something more compatible with Huawei.. Any other idea what I can do? Thanks

I have the same problem.  The messaging and calls worked well for many months.  Then, the device stopped alerting me to texts.  Then, calls came through but showed an incorrect caller.  Now, no calls alert and no texts come through.  I've tried everything the FitBit moderator suggested...  I even bought a new phone optimistic that would help.  Nope.

It worked so good with iphone 7....its not OK to not work.. I am very disappointed.. Hope they will fix this issue since it's a bug on android versions...

 I have an iPhone and Alta HR that have worked beautifully together for over a year and a half now and ever since the new operating system for Fitbit downloaded I have not been able to receive my text messages, phone calls, or emails coming in. I have tried going into my settings and turning  my push notifications off and then back on again and I have disconnected my Fitbit and re-synced it to my phone several times, but nothing works. It’s very  frustrating as the push notification features are a good 50% of why I use the Fitbit in the first place. I also hate how small everything is on the new operating system. It’s so hard to see when you’re out and about and want to just glance at your stats.

It's not normal to have this kind of issues.. Somebody fron Alta Hr customer service can raise this internally and have a fix for it?

Same as you the main reason I choose Fitbit was because of notifications.. I could have taken a 20 dollar bracelet instead of 200... Since now this one doesn't have anything extra.. 

@DavideFitbit can you help please?

Thank you for your reply @OanaBi, and welcome to the forums @DeniseFox @Sadgirl. Could you please confirm which mobile device are you're using to set up the notifications (phone model)? 

 

Welcome to the Community as well @JaneyKay, I can see the Samsung Galaxy S10 is compatible and you should receive notifications. Please let me know if you're not receiving any notifications (call, text, calendar, third party) or if you're having this problem only with one type of notifications.

I have the same problem. Since a few weeks I do not receive any text on my alta hr. I have iPhone 6s and updated recently. Tried everything already. Deleted and reinstalled the app. Nothing works. I’m very disappointed because it was a nice feather. Can you let me know what I should do?

YES strange but here too. It works again after I reset everything.
Only one thing. Trimming on alta is very light and not so strong as before.

Mine still doesn't work on Huawei p30... I made a research and it seems Garmin had a similar issue with some devices Huawei and iPhone and they made a special fix for it. Soo... I would say to investigate more deep the problem and try to find the fix otherwise I will be forced to get an unwanted new device.. 😞

Hello, sorry for the late response. 

 

@AnnemieBelgium, please let me know if you're not receiving any notifications at all (call, text, calendar, third party) or if you're having this problem only with one type of notifications, for example Whatsapp or Snapchat. Let me know if you've also tried all the steps mentioned here earlier.

I have an Alta HR and it has always worked well with my iPhone until the IOS updates in Oct. The text notifications stopped working (although call notifications still work). I have uninstalled and reinstalled the device, confirmed all notification settings and followed all of the other steps listed on the tips of things to try. I am very frustrated that this feature has stopped working, it’s one reason why I originally chose this device. All the forums and help blogs I have read since Oct keep saying that Fitbit is aware that there are issues and they are working to update. When will this be fixed?

Hi,

 

Notifications had disappeared for text messages, Phone calls and calender.

As I mentioned I deleted and reinstalled the app, reset my fitbit and checked all my notifications (both in my iPhone and in the fitbit app as well)

 

Now suddenly notifications are back on…. 2 days after I’ve done what I mentioned here above!

But; the trill i receive on my device is very light; I almost don’t notice it.
Before it trilled much stronger.

Could it be the IOS update has a bug then?

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the device, reset the device and checked notifications. The only notifications that works is for incoming calls. So frustrating.

Thank you for sharing that you've tried all the suggested troubleshooting steps and for confirming that you're both using iOS devices. 

 

Could you please confirm which OS version you're running on your iPhone devices?

I have installed the IOS 13.2.3 about 2 weeks ago and then these problems
started.

I currently have 13.3 (as of 2 days ago). The issues started with the 13.1 update a couple months ago.
