Alta HR not recording activity correctly

This week my Alta stopped recording activity correctly. When I walk my dog for 40 minutes it registers as "Outdoor Bike" for about 17-23 minutes on average. I wear the band on the free-swinging hand that is not holding the leash.

 

When I am walking indoors on my treadmill for 20 minutes it doesn't register an exercise at all. I do not hold on to the handrails and my arms swing freely. 

 

I have the Auto-Detect set to 10 minutes, and I have it set to recognize only Walk now (disabled the others). 

 

Bluetooth works fine and it counts every step correctly.

 

It's extremely frustrating that Alta doesn't detect my activity, and there is no way to manually start an activity. 

 

How do I fix this issue?

Hi @strawberry_ Try restarting the Alta HR a few times and see how it goes next time you exercise. Usually this fixes activity recognition when there is a problem.
