Has the bug been fixed yet?
This problem persists on my Samsung Galaxy S4, OS5.0.1
This is a huge frstration, please advise.

@Ged1957, if you used the Pause & Resume feature while on the walk, the map will not be saved after you finish the walk. This is known bug, and Fitbit it working on it. But, meanwhile, do not use the Pause & Resume during the walk - just wait until the end of the walk and then do the Pause & Finish to record the walk with the map.
