Thanks for being part of our Community @Kpols2! I appreciate the time and effort you have invested to solve this. Can you please confirm that you have followed step by step the restart suggested here.
Also, dust and debris can accumulate over time and prevent a charge. To clean the charging contacts please follow the help article How do I clean my tracker?
You can also try a different port. A UL-certified wall charger will also work. Don't use a USB hub. Check the alignment and try reconnecting your tracker to the charging cable. For illustrations and tips on how to know if the connection is secure, see How do I charge my tracker?
I look forward for your reply! 😉

Hello Lucy, hope you can help me, my fitbit Alta has worked fine since purchase, charged no problems been a great item, then on a recent trip abroad I left my charger behind and with not much juice left in the band it eventually died a slow and painful death!
So I ordered a new charger direct from Fit Bit, (in case its important the band has been un-operational for 11 days) the charger arrived today so I have connected it to my band but nothing is happening,
no lights, no battery sign, no nothing.
I tried your press 3 times sequence but no joy with that, Do I need to do something else to it since its been with no power for such a long time or am I being impatient expecting it to burst in to life?
Comments/advice/Guidance is most welcome
Regards
TheDon

Hey @LucyAP! The same thing happened to my Alta too yesterday. I have tried what you have suggested above, but my Alta is still not working once I unplug it from the charger. Please let me know what I should do next! Thanks!

My Alta has the same problem. Screen goes black randomly and no activiya is recordrr. I plug it in to charge then it works while connected but goes black again. Have tried start up process and cleaning the contacts. Any more advice would be gratefully received.

My Fitbit has just started doing the same thing. I would love to hear what they tell you to do.

I had the same problem with the Alta: the battery appeared to be fully charged, tapping and syncing worked while charging, but they stopped working immediately after unplugging. The problem for me was with the battery. Probably because it stayed not charged for a while the display showing how much it charged was broken. The solution is to keep it connected to the charger for a long time (e.g. 24h). For me, this solved the problem, and both tapping and syncing now work without the tracker being plugged in.

I have the same issue, but keeping it connected to the charger for a day or more does not correct the problem. Originally the display showed 1/2 charged. After beging fully charged, eventually it showed it 3/4 charged. Again fully charging for overnight or longer, it now does not display anything unless connected to the charger. Is your Fitbit Alta still working??

Exactly same problem here… it will buzz and I know it’s charged. I’ve tried the reset button. Sometimes the app find the device but I can’t see the code to connect it. Ideally, all I need is a few codes to try and hopefully it will connect.

I am in exactly the same position - my phone says they are connected - my Alta hr says it can’t find my phone - and when it does I can’t see the code - Fitbit support chat was unhelpful and sent discount code for a new one!
