I am having a hard time finding alta hr to replace mine that died.is it discontinued? What is comparable?

The Alta HR has been discontinued.  The Inspire HR would be considered its replacement.  It's about the same size, and I think it has all the capabilities of the Alta HR, with the addition of the Exercise App which lets you select which type workout you are doing and tell when you start and end, instead of having to rely on auto-recognition.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
