Hello,
I've been having continuous issues with the Alta line of fitbits. I was gifted one just over a month ago, and within the 1st week it kept dying.
It was fully charged and I tried resetting it. This would work as a very temporary fix, as it would die again within the next couple hours.
Figured maybe it was just a faulty watch, so I went back to Sportcheck and exchanged it for a new Alta. Problem is, I am having the exact same issues with this new Alta as well.
I really want to use this product, but at this point it just seems like a poorly made gadget built to die. I've read countless reports of the same problem with this device, and am hoping the Fitbit company can do something about this situation.
I could easily go and exchange the watch again, but I dont know if its worth it if the product is just bad.
Hope to hear from a representative.
Thank you,
Brooke

I have done all that you have suggested but my FitBit Alta HR continues to shut down...after multiple restarts and charges and cleaning etc.

I don't think you're getting the point that the watch is going dead with ample battery power left.

This is the 2nd Fitbit watch I'm having that stops working due to this exact problem. and yes, I charge it correctly, restarted it, reinstalled it... nothing.from 5 days battery to barely 5 hours.
The watch also stopped showing the time as it used to be, some of the pixels are missing. It's not a real problem as I can still see the time, but it's just another thing to make it annoying.
I hope you can offer a solution as I'm about to stop using fitbit.. Not as a threat or anything but just as I don't have so much money to spend on a new watch every year and a bit. ☹️

I have the same issue now for few weeks. I charge it using the computer usb and I tried all the suggestions above but the charge doesn’t last beyond 90%. I agree with ithers here that this seems to be a fault in the device that starts after 3 years of use. I am not happy about this and request help from fitbit please!

My Fitbit Alta HR just stopped working too. I’ll go to check the time and see that the screen is black and won’t come back on. I’ll plug it in, do the reset on the plug, and then it will come to life with almost fully battery charge. I’ll charge it completely, wear it for a day or two, and then the cycle repeats. I know it’s old now, but it makes me reconsider getting another Fitbit (after being a loyal Fitbit customer for several years now).

Hi AbhiD,
Was your issue fixed? I have been experiencing the same problem that you and others on this thread are having; and I've tried the different solutions but to no avail my Fitbit Alta HR keeps dying unexpectedly. I'm guessing since Fitbit don't sell the Fitbit Alta HR and even though they say they support the device they probably don't; because I guarantee they don't test all updates on devices they don't sell anymore which means they should not push updates out.
Maybe someone from Fitbit can confirm this.

I am experiencing the same problem since the end of May. It has needed to be rebooted 3 times this week!
