Please try restarting the Alta first and see if that helps.

Steps to restart:
If this is still an issue, please try restarting your phone. (I find that to help me a lot).

@Glinde It's great to see you in the Community! So sorry to hear that your Alta has stopped syncing with your phone. I'd like to know if the troubleshooting steps that my friend @kawaiiko shared, fix the syncing issue. If not, my best advice is to contact our Customer Support team so they can investigate further and get you back on track.

It's syncing now again. It seems that if there is another active Bluetooth device in range like my iPhone and iPad are both in range and have Bluetooth active the Fitbit won't sync.

@Glinde I'm so glad to hear that your Alta is syncing properly again. Thanks for keeping the update posted here. Regarding the conclusion, yes, if several Bluetooth devices are within the range that your Fitbit is, some devices might not connect.

@dlfarmer Thanks for joining us and welcome to our Community! Regarding your question, you won't lose your data at all after restarting your tracker. The restart will only refresh your tracker internally. However, it won't erase any data that has been taken.
Keep me posted if more questions arise my friend! ![]()

Best AnswerHi there!
I have a problem, I bought my alta in May, and it worked very well until now. It won't sync, and cannot connect to Bluetooth in my Iphone. I have tried everything:
- restart (pressing a button on a charger 3 times within 8 seconds) - no signs came up
- deleting and reinstalling fitbit app
- turn off and turn on the bluetooth
- restarting my Iphone
It last synced when I tried to update my alta version software in the app.
thanks in advance,
Best AnswerHi,
My fitbit Alta used to work just fine and I was super happy with it. But when I updated last Saturday, 8 October 2016 to Firmware Version 21.21.37.8 that's when the problem started. My Alta won't sync! My phone's Bluetooth cannot detect the Alta anymore.
I then restarted the Alta by pressing the button on the charging cable three times within 8 seconds, briefly pressing between presses, then I saw the Fitbit logo. After restarting, I was able to sync the Alta. But at the end of the day, it wouldn't sync again.
I restart it at the start of the day and am able to sync but at the end of the day it won't sync again. I get the message "tracker not found". How often do I restart the Alta? Everyday?
Best AnswerI have the same issue. The update has caused my fitbit alta to stop syncing. I've tried all of the things listed above: restarting (yes the fitbit logo and version came up), logging off and back on, uninstalliong/reinstalling the app. My alta will only sync once per day in the morning.
Ok, I think I have figured it out. At least it's been synching for over 24 hours. I have an alta. Reset it with the button press 3 times. Then press on the Alta tile on the dashboard in the app. Make sure all day sync and always connected are turned ON. I did those last two things this time yesterday and mine is still syncing today. **crosses fingers it keeps working**
Best AnswerEven though fitbit is too greedy to honor its one year warranty on my fitbit that broke after 4 weeks, it looks like I'm not missing out on much since yours continue to break and malfunction despite multiple replacements.
Best AnswerOh, the ole switcheroo? The ole bait and switch? At this point, I'd settle for a $3 Dukes of Hazzard Timex as a replacement.. We all know it would last 100x longer than a fitbit.
