Battery life not lasting

Hey, I've been having trouble with my Fitbit Alta not staying charged for longer then a few hours in the past few weeks. I've tried changing the plugin adapter and I've kept the charging pins an port clean. I got this as a Christmas gift 2+ years ago and before the charging issues it was having trouble keeping up on my steps and my active minutes.  For example I'd go for a walk, an not one that lasted for less then 10 mins, but for a minimum of 30 minutes on a Monday and then on the Tuesday I'd do the same walk with extra time but get no active minutes. Which then I'd have to manually add my walk to the app in order for it to be logged for my exercise routine. And yes I've checked the help forms for what to do before I made this post. Thanks for any help everyone is able to provide, as my mom who got her's at the same time as me is having the exact same issues on her alta.

Hi @Hyperionlady, welcome to the Community Forums! My sincere apologies for the delay in responding your post.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for trying some steps before posting over here. Let me share with you that the battery of our Alta was designed to last 5 days, but this also depends on how frequently you use all the features of your device. That said, I recommend you charging your Fitbit device with a USB port from a computer or a UL-certified outlet into the wall and then turn off all the features that you don’t use that much.

After following the above information, please check this help article for more tips and recommendations. This article includes as restart process that will refresh the device's performance.

Keep me posted, I’ll be right here if you need anything else.

Hi, so I tried what was suggested; however it only lasted for a couple of days before the issues came back. This Christmas it will be 4 years that I've had my device, so will this mean that I will have to get a new one?
