In what way are they incorrect? Can you provide a little more information?

Hello @AnnieRussell, welcome to the Community Forums! Sorry for the delayed reply.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Just as @SteveH mentioned in his post, please share more information and details about the issue you're experiencing with your Alta HR and the calories burned amount so we can move forward with this.
In the meantime I receive your reply, let me share with you that Fitbit devices combine your basal metabolic rate (BMR)—the rate at which you burn calories at rest to maintain vital body functions (including breathing, blood circulation, and heartbeat)—and your activity data to estimate your calories burned. If your device tracks heart rate, your heart-rate data is also included, especially to estimate calories burned during exercise. The number you see on your Fitbit device is your total calories burned for the day.
Your BMR is based on the physical data you entered in to your Fitbit account (height, weight, sex, and age) and accounts for at least half the calories you burn in a day. Because your body burns calories even if you’re asleep or not moving, you see calories burned on your device when you wake up and will notice this number increase throughout the day.
Keep me posted, I'll be around.

I agree. It seems to be calculating too high. I switched from Alta to Alta HR and have seen an increase in calories burned. Activity level has not changed.

Hi @emqua, it's nice to see you again participating here in the Community Forums, sorry for the delay in responding your post.
Please take in consideration the information that was shared on my previous post and let me know if you continue experiencing the same issue. Also, please restart your Alta HR to refresh its performance.
I'll be around, let me know if you have any additional questions.

I ended up turning off the HR feature. It was calculating my activities way too high. DId a bike ride and put me at 300 calories mores than my garmin. Garmin is using numbers from my Exercise metabolic test and HR, So I know it is a more accurate number.
