Core workout logging

Fitbit doesn't know that I'm working out when im doing a core workout since I take zero steps, hence I don't burn any additional calories than I would sitting down watching tv. For all fitbit knows, it thinks I'm watching tv, when really I'm burning calories doing a core workout but it can't detect that since I take zero steps.😑

Awesome asist @WendyB! It's great to have you here! I hope you're doing well @Abby02! Manually logging an activity works well for those activities where step count isn't the best indicator of the calories burned. If you are doing an activity that does not require steps (like cycling or swimming), or an activity that requires more than just steps (like tennis or yoga), you can use the activity log to improve the accuracy of this activity's contribution to your caloric burn. You can also use manual logging to add a walk or run if you leave your tracker at home.

All steps, calories, and active minutes recorded by your tracker are overridden for the duration of a manually logged activity by the activity's entered values. This ensures that your steps are not counted twice as long as the manually logged activity has the correct start time and duration.

To create an activity log:

1. Go to the Activities page by clicking Log at the top of your dashboard, then click Activities
2. Under Log Activities, click a common activity or search for your activity in the search box.
3. Select your activity from the search results. If the activity is not in our system, you have the option to create your own activity by clicking the Create custom activity text that will appear below the search field.
4. Enter the duration, distance (if applicable), and start time of your activity. You have the option to manually enter the number of calories burned here if you'd like to.
5. Click Log Activity. Your activity will now be visible and editable in the Logged Activities area.

I hope this helps, keep me posted! 😉

I don't see the ability to ad a custom workout. I activated "workout" on my band and I searched for the activity on the app. Nothing and no option to create custom. Core is a pretty standard exercise. Why would it not be an option? Curling is an option! The only time I see curling is when I'm watching the olympics! Crazy. Also I'm not able to edit my workout that I logged under "calisthenics" which for some reason gives ZERO actively minutes. I do a pretty intense core program. It definitely counts for active minutes but not for Fitbit. Help if you can. Thanks.

So I know how to log activity, but I’m wondering what you would choose from the drop down menu as core workouts. I have tried all sorts of combinations “abs” “crunches” “sit ups” none of these things are in the database, and I am at a loss as to what to log it as instead
