Dead pixels on display

It is very saddening to see my Alta HR's display disappearing by a line a day. As of today, only 30% of the pixels are visible, others are dead. It is like, I am witnessing the slow death of this device which I loved so much.

You have to get the screen replaced by heading the screen then get some card then go around the edge but don’t put the card in a lot because there is a wire connected to it then when you lift it up and make sure the watch is powered off. Then there is a type of screw then un screw it then take off the cable then get your new one and connect it up then put on that screw then put the case on then power it on then there.

Hello @fitmeintobit, welcome to the Community Forums!

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I totally understand how frustrating this matter can be for you. If you haven't already done so, please restart your Alta HR following the next steps and let me know how it goes:

  1. Plug your charging cable into a USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display. Your tracker will begin charging.
  3. Press the button on your charging cable 3 times within a few seconds, briefly pausing between presses. The button is on the end of the charging cable that is plugged into your computer. When you see the Fitbit logo and the tracker vibrates, this means the tracker has restarted.
  4. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

My Alta HR started this last week.  It was a slow death of line by line disappearing.  I have tried restarting it a few times.  It still syncs and counts steps/ tracks HR, but it does me no good unless I open the app.    Very frustrating as this fitbit is only a few months old.

This is the second unit I own which experienced the issue, coincidentally at the same location in the screen (upper part). I went around the problem by changing the orientation of the display from vertical to horizontal.  It is not a fix but it retuning the unit is not an option, it will work 🙄

My screen is completely dead, I need to re-pair my Alta HR to my android but can't see the provided number in order to continue. I've restarted the tracker with your above directions but my screen is still black. Please help.

where do you get a new screen? And what do you mean by "heading the screen"?
