Device not tracking Run exercise

I have had my Alta HR for over a year. It has always tracked my running as exercise. I also ride a bike and lift weights, and those I have to manually enter. I know that it has to be over 10 minutes, you cannot hold a handle, and if your HR isn't high enough or there are not steps it doesn't count it. It has always counted my running as exercise. Today I ran for 45 minutes, and it showed the steps, and active minutes. But under days of exercise it did not log it.

I have tried to add the device. I have tried to revoke the access and then reinstate the access. I have tried to restart the fitbit. Nothing is working.

I know I can manually enter it, but I shouldn't have to.

Hello @dpaas25, welcome to the Community Forums!

Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the details that were shared in your post, thanks for troubleshooting this situation prior to posting too.  To better assist you with this, can you please let me know when was the first time you experienced this situation and how many times since then? Does this occur only with the Run exercise or with other ones too? Which mobile device are you using to check the Fitbit app? If you haven't already done, please try the following steps:

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  2. Uninstall the app from your mobile device.
  3. Make sure that the phone operating system version is up to date.
  4. Reboot your mobile device.
  5. Reinstall the Fitbit app.
  6. Login using your account credentials.
  7. Let me know if the issue persists.

Keep me posted and let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thank you for your response. I did everything again and something worked. My run the following day was recorded as a day of exercise.
