Fitbit Alta factory reset

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

We have bought our daughter a Fitbit Alta (not alta HR) second hand and we need to reset it completely including time date and data and can't figure out how.  I've found info on a reset by pressing the button on the charger, but i think that is only a restart and not a factory reset??

Also as my daughter is young, she will need to be registered under my email etc.  How do I do that  and not get the data confused with my own fitbit Inspire?

thanks in advance

A few issues here:

No reset needed.  Data is cleared when attached to new account.

Children under 13 can only be added in family account, and only with Ace or Ace 2.  Family account cannot be set up for child with Alta.

If she were old enough to not be in family account, she would need her own Fitbit account/email.  That could also be on your phone but require often logging out of one account and into the other.

I could potentially set something on ‘dads phone’ as he doesn’t have a Fitbit.
Once we link to an account will the sync reset the time and date too as this is not correct?

It would be easier on a separate phone.

Sync will correct date and time.  They get taken from phone at each sync.  Other than time zone issues, that is the only way to set date and time.
