Fitbit Alta screen going blank

Randomly my fitbit Alta screen goes blank, the battery is no where near flat more than 50 %.

Plugging in to it's charger restores the screen immediately, the fitbit logo is shown first.

Can you please let me know when did the issue start? Have you noticed if it only happens when your Alta is at 50% of battery life?. Has your Alta been in touch with water or sweat? I recommend cleaning your Fitbit device after being exposed to water or sweat. For instructions, please check:

It first happened just once last summer and then more frequently in the autumn. 

The battery can be more than 50% , my fitbit is clean and dry.

It seems to help if I give my fitbit a quick charge every morning, I would prefer to charge it more fully and completely; the last time I did this in the evening it crashed the following morning despite being almost fully charged.
