Fitbit Icon on IPhone

In the last week I have started seeing a number within a red circle over my Fitbit icon on my I-Phone.   I thought maybe it was new notifications or messages but I have non.   What does this number represent and how do I get rid of it?

This seems to be a bug that Fitbit are working on. Keep an eye on the following thread where they are posting updates:

@Fabrinut   I'm not sure why you are seeing this badge notification when you have no messages/notifications, but this is how to turn them off.  Go to your iPhone Settings > Notifications > Fitbit > toggle Badge notifications to off.  I think, but can't prove, that an iOS update turned them on.  All of my apps have badge notifications on.  As an example, I use the FedEx delivery manager frequently.  I don't remember how I set it up.  I never got badge notifications before -- now it is toggled to On.
