@yee10 It's great to see you in the Community! It's normal that the screen turns off after a few seconds when tapped and it's charging. No worries my friend. It's better this way since if the display remains on all the time, the battery would take more time to get fully charged.
I'll be around if more helps is needed my friend!

I just upgraded from a flex to the alta. I'm charging it, I think. There's no real indication that it is charging or how far along it is like there was with the flex. I'm disappointed that there isn't. It was nice to see the progress with the 5 dots on my flex. How will I know when it it's done charging?

Nevermind. I had it plugged into an outlet and it didn't like that... it also needed to be rebooted. Now I see the battery filling up instead of just the battery with the exclamation point.

@jmrowe Thanks for joining us in the Community! I'm so glad to hear that your Alta shows the battery level indicator as it should when charging it. Thanks for keeping the update here.
I'd like to share the Alta's manual so you can check out your tracker's features and get the most out of it.
Keep me posted if more questions arise my friend!

Same boat here. Im plugged into the laptop & cant tell the progress. I switched to this one because I habitually NEVER received a low battery message on FLEX & now cant tell charge progress on this new one. Not a happy camper...

Hi! Did your Alta ever turn on? I just got mine today and it isn't doing anything. I had the charging cable plugged into my computer and the USB isn't even being recognized. Support told me to leave it "charging" but there's no indication that it's actually charging at all.

Hi! I had to make sure it was properly inserted in the charger and then hit the button on the USB 3 times. That will reboot your alta and it should start showing the battery icon as filling up when you tap the screen.
Did you insert it into the charger correctly... it's much different than the flex I had so I had to try a few times to line it up with the charger.... it should vibrate to let you know it's plugged in right... if not then you might have gotten a defective one. Nothing popped on my laptop by the way, just the alta vibrating and charging screen when I tapped it.

After three days, a tech support chat, and a new charger purchase, I've discovered my Alta will only charge if in a one slot USB wall charger. In a USB hub, computer USB slot, or a double USB car charger, it will not charge.

I am having trouble charging my Alta. When I connect it to the charger the battery comes up with a solid part showing in the battery then soon as I lay it down the solid part turns to what looks like x's. after one hour the battery is still not charged.

My Alta is 3 months old but isn't charging fully and is loosing the battery really quickly! I've minimised the info it shares on my actua Fitbit down to steps, time and battery life - does anyone else find this? I used to be able to get a week easily, but not have to charge it every couple of days?
Thanks,
FluffyHead
