Issue with screen brightness

Hi, the screen brightness of my fitbit alta HR has gone dull. I have been using the fitbit for last 2 years 

does the regular wear and tear lead to decrease the screen brightness?

the other functions are ok, but I can barely see the display now even in a dark room

i have tried resetting the device, like you have suggested in one of the forums. But that did not help

I’m afraid it may be time for a new Fitbit device, @Kedar1982 . They just announced several new devices. You may want to check them out. If you prefer a smaller tracker, something more similar to your Alta HR, you may want to look at the new Inspire 2.

I didnt get you, why should I buy a new fitbit if my fitbit alta HR is working totally fine except the screen brightness. 

I have the foll questions:

1) does fitbit have a life only of 2 yrs?

2) does the screen start becoming dull after use over a period of time 

3) is there no repair possible for the screen brightness

Hi @Kedar1982 I suggested a newer model because your Alta is no longer working as it should and unfortunately, I do not know of any repair centers. No, Fitbit does not have a specific, anticipated life. No company sells electronics by telling customers when to expect it to stop working. I used my Alta HR for several years before giving it to my granddaughter when I upgraded.  I also recommended the Alta HR to many friends and family. But as good as it was, it was not as good/powerful as the newer models that followed. Technology changes and improves over time. I was thrilled when newer Fitbit devices offered the ability to set the brightness of the screen, offered clock faces with larger screens that allowed for larger numbers and also allowed me to set how long the clock face display would stay on when I flicked my wrist. After the Alta HR, the Versa devices quickly became my favorite for a long time but I must confess now, I can’t wait to see the Sense with all it health features.
