No device found - anytime charge falls to 75%

Within the last week or two, my Alta suddenly developed an issue where it completely shuts down anytime the charge falls to or below 75%. I can’t seem to even keep it working for a full 24 hour period. For example, I charged it and did my typical reset (which I’d been advised to do with a prior step-counting error) last night. This morning it was working well and still showing a 95% charge. By this afternoon, it wouldn’t turn on or respond, and the app, rather than showing a low battery message indicates that no device is found to connect to. Unlike when I’ve had my battery die previously the steps I’d taken before recharging are not recording.  The thing is as dead as a door nail and now about as useless as one too!
I’m at a loss of what do to for repair as I’ve done multiple resets, deleted and redownloaded the app, but the problem continues. I will not spend money to replace the Alta, since I had a perfectly working device only two weeks also! I am very disappointed as I essentially can only use my Fitbit in 12 hour shifts.

I even purchased a replacement charger hoping that would solve the issue, but nope!
